27 years after the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian Journalist, which was approved by the International Federation of Journalists following the events of the tunnel attack in 1996... Israel has continued to target the Palestinian truth in media coverage of all the violations and blatant aggression against civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.  ..
Since the Palestinian people were displaced from their land and homeland in the year 1948 until this day, Israel has adopted a policy of misinformation, promoting lies, subverting facts, equating the victim and the executioner, assassinating the word, and silencing mouths in an attempt to falsify everything that is true on the ground...
On this day, September 26, 1996, the events of the alimony donation, in which the Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, are an eyewitness example of what Israel is making of a bloody record against the guardians of the word and truth and their media institutions, and the Israeli violations against the media that know no borders and transcend all laws.  Earth in broad daylight.
It is a day that constitutes a milestone in the struggle of the Messengers of the Word and expresses the insistence of media professionals to convey the narrative of freedom and to carry out their moral duty despite the killing, brutality, arrests, movement prevention, obstruction, and restrictions.
The Israeli occupation must be obligated to respect the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, especially the text of Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and to protect their right to freedom of opinion and expression.
The statistics showed that the violations varied between detention and prevention of coverage, which had the largest share in terms of the number of cases recorded at 175 cases, and deliberate killing, arrest, and targeting with bullets, as 35 bullets penetrated the bodies of journalists, in addition to travel bans, being brought before the courts, and summons.  Assault, beating, and other violations aimed at preventing journalists from practicing their work.
The first half of 2022 witnessed the martyrdom of two journalists, Sherine Abu Aqla and Ghofran and Rasneh, while 21 journalists remain in the occupation prisons, including journalist Bushra Al-Taweel from the city of Al-Bireh, and media student Dina Jaradat from the city of Jenin.

All of this calls for the necessity of translating and activating international laws to protect journalists on the ground in order to put an end to the series of targeting Palestinian journalists.
