Palyouth
The eighth international conference of the European Alliance in Support of Palestinian Prisoners concluded its work today, Sunday, in the Spanish capital, Madrid, after a number of interventions and a review of a group of working papers on prisoners’ issues presented by many participants.
The head of the National Library, Issa Qaraqe, said that the goal of holding such conferences is to mobilize world public opinion through its human rights institutions, political parties, and parliaments, to put pressure on the fascist Israeli government, which does not adhere to international laws or moral and humanitarian standards in its dealings with our prisoners. The issue of prisoners is not Palestinian. Purely, it is primarily a humanitarian issue.
For his part, the Director of the Center for Defending Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, Helmi Al-Araj, said that the Center submitted a working paper to the conference under the title “Slow Killing of Prisoners and Seizing the Bodies of Martyrs Among Them,” through which it was stated that the number of sick prisoners exceeded 723 male and female prisoners, including 31 prisoners sick with tumors Malicious.
For his part, the representative of the coalition in Norway, Saleh Shaaban, said, “The conference will produce a set of results and recommendations, but the most important thing is that they be put into practice.”
